Summer Capsule Wardrobe

In Zurich, summer days are pleasant because the sun and scattered rains somehow balance the season. I was driving a motorhome through Tuscany a week ago, and the heat was overwhelming. I had to pack only a few items of clothing. My top pick for this trip was, as you would have guessed, capsule wardrobe items.

Thus, let us discuss the creation of summer capsule wardrobes for these kinds of journeys. Making a summer capsule wardrobe with a colour column can be more difficult than making one for other seasons because we usually only want to wear one or two pieces in the hot weather. The secret to doing this is to maintain all of your pieces in the same colour value, which means lightness or darkness of the colour. This will also lengthen your appearance, but if you use unrelated colour values, you risk cutting yourself in two pieces and creating horizontal lines.

How Do You Start a Summer Capsule Wardrobe?

Step One: Take everything out of your closet and classify it by:

  1. Colour (Is it the right palette for your skin tone and the rest of your clothing?)
  2. Fit
  3. Your style
  4. If you love it
  5. Whatever doesn’t make the cut, separate it out and either donate it or put it in a section of your closet that makes it a maybe. Try to think of your unique style…right now. How is this piece serving you? Does it just create clutter in your closet and most importantly, in your mind?

Step Two: Make sure the items you choose for your capsule wardrobe are in good condition, feel current, and don’t need to be altered.

A casual but chic weekend look put together with pieces from your capsule wardrobe. The skirt is neutral and can be paired with an endless number of colors and even dressed up for dinner with a dressier sandal .

I used a column of colour for this summer capsule, which has two dresses, four bottoms, and six tops—more than enough for a two-week trip (day and night)

Dresses are something I like, and they would look fantastic in a capsule wardrobe. I would pair this with flat sandals throughout the day (for a more sophisticated evening appearance, pair it with metallic sandals).

Remember to accessorise your clothing to make it appear more unique and varied. To maintain the colour column, make sure your shoes match the colour of your skin or the item you are wearing.

Enjoy the summer🥂
