White is one of three neutrals (but these neutrals should be a reflection of our coloring) however, it is not a practical color when used alone.
Assume you have a white leather sofa in your living room, or the interior of your fancy car is white, or you are dressed totally in white (celebrities mostly do). No matter how careful you are, it is a difficult color to keep clean in the long run. It is commonly used by carefree folks who wish to keep their hands clean. We could also easily interpret this message as “I have money; I don’t get my hands dirty, which means I have others clean up after me.”
Some people are outraged that white was picked as this year’s color, and speculations say it is political. My own opinion is not for everyone, and it should not be your color because of Pantone votes…but it is one of the main neutral colors that most of us have in our closets, and it goes with everything, so don’t feel obligated to wear it in 2026 due to the Pantone decision.
Another year is coming to an end, and as I always say, clothing doesn’t just protect your body; it affects your mood. What you wear can change the way you feel. What you wear should reflect your personality and complement who you are on the inside and outside.
